Final update! Well it's been fun, I hope those of you paying attention like the ending, I may or may not write another one, so be prepared for this to be my last work here. Enjoy!

"I'm going to the forest, I will destroy the creature."
"Don't be so conceited Shadow," replied Faust "You'll need me, unless you really are prepared to die."
"You shouldn't underestimate the power I wield in my super form. But fine, just stay out of it unless it looks like I'm in trouble." With that, Shadow drew the energy from the Chaos Emeralds, and with a flash of light he was standing there, wrapped in energy and golden in colour.
"Let's go." He grabbed Faust's arm and teleported them into the forest.

Faust launched a blast at a tree, as the flaming plant hit the floor, a white blur flew from the undergrowth straight towards him. Shadow, still clad in Chaos energy as he sustained his super form, stopped the creature with a kick. He entered a combat stance, as the Faceless Guardian got to it's feet and stood with it's arms hung loosely by it's side. With all the speed of the Ultimate Lifeform, augmented by the Emeralds, Shadow flew over to it, and swung his fist at it's ribs. The his fist went clear through, and he realised too late that it was an afterimage. The guardian swept Shadow's legs out from under him, the golden hedgehog flew into the air before he hit the ground from the attack. The Guardian leapt after him, and drove it's fist into his stomach, it then spun in the air, it's heel connecting hard with Shadow's chin. Shadow was sent plummeting towards the ground, and as the creature dropped after him, it reached out and snapped his arm. As Shadow hit the ground, his arm hanging loosely by his side his thoughts were those of shock: he was transformed, how could it still hurt him? He rose unsteadily and the Faceless Guardian ran towards him, it's left hand held back. As soon as the punch connected, Shadow's fur went black, and Faust knew he was no longer conscious. Faust converted his body to light, and dashed behind the creature, he raised a hand and a column of coruscating red energy erupted from beneath the creature, enveloping it in a crimson glare. When the attack cleared, Faust wasn't surprised to see the creature standing in exactly the same position it had been in.
"Only one more option then." he muttered to himself. He again transmuted his body to light and then dashed over to Shadow's prone body, he seized up the Emeralds, and forced their energy into his body. The Guardian leapt towards Faust, but was hurled backwards by the energy around him. Faust's eyes rolled back into his head, and were flooded with an iridescent green colour, his fur became a pale blue rather than the purple it was usually, an aura, far brighter and more solid than usual sprang around him unbidden. White fire filled the clearing, as the energy of the Emeralds wrestled with that belonging to Faust. Eventually the maelstrom of power died down, leaving Faust kneeling by Shadow's unconscious form. He raised his pale blue head, revealing his eyes to the creature, they featured no pupil or iris, merely green from edge to edge. He glared at the pale abomination and his already vivid aura intensified, a mixture of green and red energy whirling around him. The Guardian charged towards him, Faust caught the hastily thrown punch and flooded energy into the creatures arm. He smiled cruelly as the being's limb disintegrated from the powerful attack. Pain flooded through Faust's right leg, he looked down and realised that the energy he was using was corroding his body.
"End it quickly" he thought. He flew up into the air, and a patch of fur on his back burned away in a flash, he pointed a hand at the maimed Guardian and unleashed a blast containing all of the strength of his Chaos filled form. As the colossal beam, wrapped in the colours of Chaos energy as well as his own distinctive red left his hand, the pain intensified and darkness began to gnaw at the corners of his vision. He intensified the blast further, and trees several feet away began to burst into flame, the strike slammed into the creature clutching the stump of it's arm. As the agony racking Faust's body overcame him and he slipped into unconsciousness, the last thing he saw was a blackened, empty and Faceless skull fall to the floor.
"It's over..."
