Bear in mind I have been writing this together with my cousin for about 7 years now.... Yeah, THAT long....

Chronicle I- Birth of the Dark

My name is Ziku.... And my entire life is one tale of suffering and bloodshed.... In the beggining of time, after we were created by God, he sent two beings to watch this world.... A man named Yang and a women named Yin. To better control the humans, God entrusted Yin with two gems, each containing a sacred power.... However Yang became jealious of his wife, and he created a gem of his own.... One born of his own darkness.... And with it he attempted to rule over Yin and the light.... The two were in a power stuggle and in the end they both died.... However Yin and Yang had a child.... His name was Arcana.... He conspired with God into the ideal entrusting one more then the other was foolish.... And so three children were born.... The youngest, a girl named Sarah. The next, a boy named Cyrus, and finally another boy.... Named Ziku.... These three were the children of God.... The three born to one day guide this world away from evil.... And that was what was to happen.... And what would have.... If not for one of our inevitable betrayal....

Just an intro, what does everyone think so far?

Alright! Now then....

Cyrus was three years younger then me.... Sara was a grand seven.... The three of us grew up together, Cyrus always looked up to me no matter what happened.... It's a nice thing, always having someone younger then you think your their king....
Arcana was constantly our teacher, and he became like a father to the three of us, watching us to ensure we didn't do anything stupid, caring for us when we needed him.... And teaching us just what we were to be once we had earned our inheretince.... And so this went all through our lives.... Until Cyrus's tenth birthday....
The whole day seemed to go all to well.... Our birthday's were always like that.... However that night something happened to Cyrus that never had before.... A nightmare....
He dreamed something that scared me.... In his dream he saw our world.... Destroyed.... He saw dead bodies litering the ground.... He practically went insane.... And then he saw him.... The culprit. He wore a dark blue shirt and black slacks, along with a purple necklace.... But what got to my brother the most.... Was the man's hair.... It was spikey and consited of two layers.... One yellow, one blood red.... And I knew why it scared my brother so.... Though his hair was flat and long it was a blood red.... And under it was a layer of yellow.... My brother feared it was a prediction! I didn't pay much mind to it.... It was just hair, what difference did it make.... I myself had long white hair just for the record....
"Kido look, it was just a dream! Relax...."
I only wish I would have listened then.... Maybe it could have made a difference....
Years passed, and he continued having these nightmare's every birthday. He finally convinced me to watch him sleep and I decided it may put his fears at ease.... I watched him sleep on his fourteenth birthday.... It all seemed quiet.... Until suddenly he rose.... In an almost zombie-like state.... I was rather confused but I grabbed my bo staff (which I had brought upon his request) my zombie like brother simply laughed as a blade apeared in his hand. I imedietly attacked only to be countered and overpowered to the ground.
"HAHAHAHAHA! I warned you didn't I? You may be too late.... I give you this promise.... In one year.... This world will burn!"
As he finished saying this he fell back into bed. I looked over him before he awoke several minutes later. When he asked me what happened I wiped the sweat off my face and told him, "You were sleepwalking.... Go back to sleep...." I couldn't bear tell him the trueth....

So who are these children again? The replacement of Yin and Yang?

Yeah, Arkana saw that his parents died out of greed, and he feared he could not rule the world alone, the three kids were born to rule.... Take notice that there are 3 kids and three gems....

OH TEH SNAP!

I know what's going to happen (then again, I'm probably wrong). Each kid inherited a gem. Cyrus inherited the dark gem. The man in Cyrus's dream was him, from the future or something because the dark gem made him well... dark.

I knew what had heppened.... Cyrus's dreams did seem to be predictions.... And if it was true.... I had to consult Arkana!
"So you say your brother's nightmares may be something to be reality eh Ziku?"
"That's right.... No way that was just him that attacked me.... Something's just not right!"
"Understand my child the darkness within Yang's gem has neutralized itself.... No darkness can come simply of wearing it.... You'd have to commit a dark sin while in the gem's presence.... Then PERHAPS it's darkness would be reawakened...."
"....Do we really want to take that chance?! I mean say it did come true then-"
"Then there'd only be one thing to do wouldn't there?"
There was a silence.
"Are you suggesting.... I kill my own little brother?!"
"I'm leaving that in your hands Ziku.... I must go."
The idea of killing my own kin.... I'd never killed anyone or anything before.... Arkana had taught me how to use the staff but I hoped I'd never have to use what I had learned.... Inevitably I made my decision...."
I sat watching a sunset one night when Cyrus came to me.
"Hey bro.... Can I sit down?"
"I ain't complaing...."
We sat there watching.... I didn't want to ruin this moment.... but I didn't feel I had any choice.
"Cyrus-"
"I know.... I heard what you said to Arkana...."
I was silent with shock.
"When I look at this kingdom.... And think back on those nightmares.... I think this place really is better off without me...."
"Cyrus...."
"Look.... I have a lot to live for.... My girlfriend *I myself never knew Cyrus's lover Arya very well....* my friends.... You and Sarah.... But when I look at all the lives it would cost.... This place needs to live more then I do.... Just..... I wanna say my good byes.... That's all...."
So it was settled.... My brother's execution the night before his fifteenth birthday.... He took it rather well actually.... He started a rumor that he had a disease, and he wouldn't live much longer.... He met all his friends and told them.... He continued until he revealed it to Arya.... She was bitter in her sadness.... I met my brother the next day.... The day of the execution....
Late that night we met and he was prepared to act.... But something happened....Something made him snap just as it was going to happen....
The three gems of Yin and Yang were to be passed onto us.... On our sixteenth birthdays.... I had recived mine when he got a look at it *I was wearing it like a coller on my neck* he just snapped.... He quickly forced me off him, revealing that same brutality he had that night we dueled.... He summoned the sword from the air once again. I was prepared this time! Our weapons quickly met in the air.... But whatever this was.... Hate, envy.... Rage perhaps? Gave him to power to defeat me. I got back up and saw him making a break for Arkana's home.... Were he kept the gems....
"You'd have to commit a dark sin while in the gem's presence.... Then PERHAPS it's darkness would be reawakened...." he had said.... He betrayed his own blood and was now stealing a sacred object! I ran into the house and we were face to face....
He stood next to a platform were Yang's gem levitated.... He simply smiled and grabbed it....

A lot of things happened in that moment.... There was a flash of light and I raised my taped hand to cover my face. When the light cleared I came face to face with Cyrus once more.... But it didn't feel like my brother I was looking at.... This was much different....
His hair was now spiked up into two layers, one his usual red, and the second his yellow. Looking into his eyes was different too.... What were once just playful parts of his face were now like.... Like staring into bottomless pits of hate. A sickeningly twisted smile came across his face.
"You see Ziku? This is what happens when you.... Embrace the darkness."
"What have you done to yourself?!" I demanded.
"Hahahaha.... I simply did as fate intended me to do.... Do you not realize the mistake you and the other's are making?! Yin and Yang died out of their own jealocies..... And Arkana expects us to rule in there place?! He's a fool.... Only one can rule this world.... And the gem has selected it be me!"
"I won't let you! Your a fool if you think I will!"
"I never expected you to simply let me foolish brother....But if you expect you can stop me go right ahead!"
It would be pointless.... I could feel the darkness radiating off his body.... Taking him on was the last thing on my mind.
"I didn't expect you to try and fight.... Now to claim my first prize!"
He reached for the gem that was ment for Sarah to inherit. I was about to jump to stop him.... But then I saw I had not need....
The moment Cyrus's skin touched the gem he shrieked in pain. He pulled his hand away and by now it was a burning chared black.
"Rrrrr.... Damn Arkana.... Must be some kind of spell.... No matter...."
He turned to me, his katana drawn.
"I'll simply claim your first! Dear Sarah's can come later!"
I pulled out my staff.... Fighting wouldn't get me anywere.... But I had to try! But the moment I moved he vanished from sight! I searched for him but a second later I felt breathing down my neck.... And a katana to the side! I quickly turned to catch him but he was behind me again, I attempted to strike but i was too late.... His katana had already been stabbd into my ribs. I fell to my knees and felt the blade once more in my right sholder. I was covered in blood and sweat as I tried to pull it out.... But before I could I was kicked right in the face. I was on the ground and about to pass out when I heard Cyrus say "I cannot afford another mistake.... Let alone hand!" I fell unconscious after that.
I reawoke some time later lying in bed. A wet spounge was on my head and I could see Sarah next to me, tending to my cuts and wounds. I could see a bandage on my shoulder and a large cast covering my ribs. I attempted to sit up but my entire body was seiring with pain and I fell back down imidietly.
"Sarah.... How long have I been out."
She hesitated.... I had to wonder why.
"I'll tell you.... It's been two whole days! And your brother's been using them to his best possible use!" replied Arkana

I'm glad I'm getting love from you and Break.... But I'd like to get some other reviews.... I'll put up the next part no matter what tomorrow though.

Alright, tonight's chapter's gonna be short, but I got a 3 day weekend to kick some ass with!

"Two days?! What've I missed?!"
"More then you know.... Dead bodies filling villages! Bloody messages writen in places of God! He's on a rampage!"
"Well why haven't you stopped him?!"
"....Ziku.... He holds the power of my father! Even I cannot compare to him anymore!"
"Alright.... Dear lord.... We need a plan here...."
"We've been trying to concaught one all day! But your sister's too young to serve much use!"
"Sarah..... Speaking of her! When I confronted Cyrus, he attempted to steal her gem-"
"Attempted? Am I to assume he failed?"
"Yeah.... When he touched it-"
"His hand burned with the flames of hell! At least that's good news! My lord if my spell didn't serve it's purpose we'd be in far more danger...."
"Arkana sir.... What should we do about Sarah.... He may think-"
"I have thought about your sister Ziku.... You know of course the King's wife and first child both died in labor correct?"
Who could forget.... Our king had long required a succesor, and now he was about to reach the age it would not be possible....
"I think..... We are going to allow him to barrow Sarah.... If we start the rumor he had a long lost child Cyrus will be less suspicous...."
"But what would Sarah-"
"It was her idea!"
There was a period of silence.... The fact my sister would now be safe put my mind at some ease.... However now I had to ask....
"Arkana.... I need to know something.... What did Yin do to defeat Yang?!"
"My mother created a dagger infused with the light within her to gems.... But she put so much of her own energy into it, when she defeated Yang, she died as well...."
"Were is this dagger?!"
"It's sealed within the pendant.... And there is no way to get it out."
I swore out lord in my frustaion.
"Alright then.... We'll have to make a new one!"
